How To Repair A Ceiling And Not Leave Smooth Lines

You've spent several days painting your sleeping room to be your dream colour.  Yous meticulously painted around the trim and windows and yous are certain that every line is perfect.  And then, y'all go far bed, look up where the wall meets the white ceiling, and you encounter the blobs.

Pigment seepage blobs.  Yuck!  Fifty-fifty though you've taped, the paint notwithstanding ran under onto your white ceiling.  Most people but have this as part of painting, simply I'm here to give you lot a quick and easy solution to this ane problem – and it doesn't even involve paint.

How to Caulk Your White Ceiling to Create a Perfect Line

ane. After your wall and ceiling paint is dry, apply a line of painter's record on the wall about one/four inch from the ceiling.  Also, apply a line on the ceiling about 1/iv inch from the wall.  We love the Scotch 3M Delicate Blue painter'due south tape.

2.  Using a caulking gun, utilize a bead of white caulk in a line about 18-24 inches long.  We mostly use the white DAP Alex caulk, which can be plant anywhere from Dwelling Depot to Amazon.  But make sure you use white and don't accidentally pick upwardly clear or almond.

3.  With a gloved finger, drag the bead of caulk down then that it fills in between the tape.  Keep dragging until the caulk is pretty apartment.

5.  Repeat this process until your whole room is finished.  Y'all'll desire to piece of work a section at a time so that the caulk doesn't dry before yous become a gamble to smooth it out.

6.  When the room is finished, skin off the record before the caulk is dry.  You'll have a perfectly straight line.

In the photos, the caulk line looks brighter than the ceiling, but it actually doesn't look that mode in real life.
